Mid-March Notes from A Quilting Life

Hello Reader,

It's the middle of March, and it is starting to feel like spring here in the desert southwest. This is actually a wonderful time of year for us with cool evenings and lovely days. Hopefully some rain will come our way soon, too!

I just got home yesterday from a wonderful work trip where I got to do something a little different--present a lecture and class to 100 Home and Family Science Education teachers. It was really a fun opportunity for me, and it was good to see that our young adults can easily find mentors for quilting, sewing, and home arts and sciences!

Today I've got the usual links to my posts and videos from earlier in the week, a new pattern to share, and a look at what is coming soon.

Below you'll find the links to my posts and videos from earlier this week (I know some of you wait to read the posts until they are linked here):

New Pattern in the Shop

I also have a new pattern in the shop, Sunshine. This design was originally in my now out-of-print book, Labor of Love. This pattern has been updated so there are two size options--a larger quilt that uses 30 Layer Cake squares and a smaller version that is fat eighth friendly. (Note: If you got a Raspberry Summer Project Package this pattern is included).

Coming Next Week

Next week I'll be sharing my March Works in Progress with a close up look at finishes from February and March. There are some fun projects I'm sharing in that post and video. I'll also be sharing additional information about Delightfully Yours and some wonderful things we have in store.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to read my weekly newsletter. I appreciate your support so much. I hope you have some wonderful time sewing and quilting today and over the week ahead.

Have a great day!
Sherri

Hello Reader, I hope your week has been a good one! I've been busy getting ready for our end of May retreats along with everything else that seems to be going on in what everyone is calling "Maycember." I'm picking out quilts for my upcoming trunk shows today--and it's so hard to choose which ones to take! I definitely would love to take more than will fit in my car. We finished up a photo shoot for a project and got our photos back this week. It's always fun to see professional photos of our...

Scrappy fabrics by Sherri & Chelsi for Moda Fabrics

Hello Reader, Happy May! I hope you're having lovely spring (or fall if you're in the southern hemisphere) weather. This is really such a beautiful time of the year where I live in the desert southwest. And it's been quite a busy week in my sewing room over the last few days as I'm trying to get kits ready for two upcoming retreats I'm teaching at during the latter part of this month. I've been cutting fabrics day and night and doing a bit of cleaning and organizing in my sewing room as well....
