Hello! I hope your first week of June is going well. I've just returned home from a week-long retreat in Dallas, Texas at the Modavation event for shop owners. It was truly inspiring to be around all of my Moda friends, and shop owners I've known for years or just for a week! I will definitely be sharing all about the event in a post next week. For now, keep reading for the June notes plus one of my favorite finds from the retreat. Earlier This WeekBelow you'll find links to the posts from earlier this week on our blog and YouTube channel:
A Very Fun FindThere were a variety of classes held at the Modavation event--so much to see and learn and do. I came home truly inspired and have a couple of quick projects I've got to make very soon. One of them was this darling bow pattern that I need in Poinsettia & Pear, Birch & Willow, and Midsummer! One of the class samples was in Birch & Willow, and I really just wanted to bring it home with me. There is a full-size bow pattern and a mini/micro version. You won't be able to make just one!
Poinsettia & Pear NewsWhile I was in Dallas, I was able to visit the Moda Warehouses, and guess what I found: Poinsettia & Pear had just arrived from the mill and is on rolls waiting to be rolled onto bolts. Those in the know said it should be about 2 weeks before the yardage starts finding its way to shops! Coming This WeekStay tuned for a great podcast episode tomorrow, a project I've finished since coming home from Dallas, a Modavation retreat summary post, another Sewcialites block, and more! Thank you so very much for taking the time to read the weekly newsletter and for all of your support. I truly appreciate everything.

Hello Reader, It's been a beautiful last week of May here--we've had temperatures in the 80's which is almost a little miraculous for the end of May (we are used to sometimes being in the 110's by now). So, I'm enjoying every cool morning and evening until the heat arrives soon. In the studio I've been working on new things for fall and doing some cleaning and organizing. I'm ready to start sewing some fun small project very soon! Poinsettia & Pear Precuts Have Arrived Poinsettia & Pear...
Hello Reader, Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is going well and that lots of sewing is in your plans. I first want to say how thankful I am for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country as well celebrate them and express our gratitude this Memorial Day Weekend in the US. Although there is still another full week of May, it's definitely the unofficial start to summer where I live. School is out, daytime temperatures are in the high 90's, and the summer vibe is real. (I'm just...
Hello Reader, I hope you've had a wonderful week and that you are able to get some sewing and quilting done this weekend! It took me most of the week to get back in my normal rhythms after attending the H + H Americas convention in Chicago (I'm linking my recap of this event below). But I've been steadily getting things put away and cleaned up and am ready for a productive week ahead.
