Hello Reader, First, thank you so much for subscribing and reading my weekly newsletter. Each weekend I share links to the content on my website from the week before along with upcoming special events and things you won't want to miss. Here at home we have some beautiful weather--I'm hoping to get a walk today because I was in my sewing room all day yesterday--so fun, but I love the outdoors, too! Recently on the BlogLast week I shared the April block of the month--it's hard to believe, but we are one third of the way through! The April block looks difficult, but I promise you that there is an easy way to make it. Be sure to watch the construction video for those helps.
A Quilting Life RetreatWe still have spaces available for our November 1st through 4th retreat in Anaheim, California! (The sewing rooms are large with terrific individual workspaces and sewing machines are provided for all attendees). Diane and her team at Eternity Quilt Events create an unforgettable experience for each quilter and have evening events planned for each night, yummy lunches, treats, and even a vendor night one evening. Chelsi and I are so looking forward to the trunk shows and the pop-up shop where we will have some things available for our session attendees you won't find anywhere else. This is the only Sherri & Chelsi event for 2026, so don't miss out! We can't wait to see you there.
This Week on the BlogStay tuned tomorrow for a fun A Quilting Life Podcast where you'll learn about our Quilting Day Habits, pressing vs. ironing, and tips for better borders. Thursday I'll be sharing a fun new free pattern for something you'll be sure to want to sew for yourself and/or some of your sewing friends. It's super cute! Finally, I still have some newly added Poinsettia & Pear mini charms in the shop along with a few quilt backings and end of bolt pieces. My plan is to update on Friday afternoons weekly until I get my stash under control, lol! Thank you again for reading the weekly newsletter--your support means so much to me.

Hello Reader, It's been a beautiful last week of May here--we've had temperatures in the 80's which is almost a little miraculous for the end of May (we are used to sometimes being in the 110's by now). So, I'm enjoying every cool morning and evening until the heat arrives soon. In the studio I've been working on new things for fall and doing some cleaning and organizing. I'm ready to start sewing some fun small project very soon! Poinsettia & Pear Precuts Have Arrived Poinsettia & Pear...
Hello Reader, Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is going well and that lots of sewing is in your plans. I first want to say how thankful I am for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country as well celebrate them and express our gratitude this Memorial Day Weekend in the US. Although there is still another full week of May, it's definitely the unofficial start to summer where I live. School is out, daytime temperatures are in the high 90's, and the summer vibe is real. (I'm just...
Hello Reader, I hope you've had a wonderful week and that you are able to get some sewing and quilting done this weekend! It took me most of the week to get back in my normal rhythms after attending the H + H Americas convention in Chicago (I'm linking my recap of this event below). But I've been steadily getting things put away and cleaned up and am ready for a productive week ahead.
