A Quilting Life Late October Notes

Hello Reader,

I'm not sure how it got to be the final week of October, but here we are! I'm enjoying our lovely weather and the noticeable change in season. I've also been able to get some good sewing done this week and finished a project I've had on my bucket list for a couple of years now--I'm hoping to get more projects started (and finished) this week. Keep reading for all of the details and notes from the week.

Patchwork Duffle Project

I've been wanting to make a Patchwork Duffle for several years, and this week I finally got it put together. I used scraps from our Delightfully Yours, Raspberry Summer, Strawberry Lemonade, and Laguna Sunrise collections and then used the grey floral from Delightfully Yours for my straps. For the bag lining (see the photo below for that) I used our 60" wide Dresden print from Raspberry Summer (and yes, it's still available here). I still need to make my carrying strap but will get that done this week. It feels good to have finally checked this one off my list!

This Week on the Blog + Our YouTube Channel

Below you'll find the links to this week's posts and videos. I had a lot of questions about pattern details for some of the items in our booths, and you'll find most of those in the Quilted Christmas Projects post and video linked below. (I still have another post to share about the cross-stitch designs):

Coming This Week

Tomorrow is podcast day! I think the episode is a great one. Chelsi and I both remarked after taping how much we enjoyed the topics and the game Billy created for us to play. Give it a listen on your favorite podcast platform, or watch it on our YouTube channel. I'll also have the next Moda Blockheads block to share this week and hope to finally finish up a Quilt Market review post as well.

Desert Quilters of Nevada Presentation

On a more personal note: I was honored to have been invited to speak at the Desert Quilters of Nevada Quilt Guild 40th Anniversary celebration. This is the guild my grandmother belonged to for many years, and they were a delightful group to speak with yesterday in Henderson, Nevada. Thank you to all who came and visited with me--several were longtime blog readers and YouTube channel viewers. Quilters are the best!

Thanks so very much for taking the time to read this week's newsletter. I hope you get to spend some good time in your sewing room this week.
