Home from Quilt Market + Mid-October Notes

Hello Reader,

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and that your fall is lovely (or spring if you are in the southern hemisphere)! It was a whirlwind of a week as I was out of town for five days for International Quilt Market in Houston, Texas. I've been home now for nearly a week and am just starting to feel caught up. A lot has been shared on the blog and our YouTube channel, and we have more coming your way soon. Keep reading for all of the fun!

International Quilt Market 2025

International Quilt Market was a wonderful event, and we were grateful to be able to share our upcoming Poinsettia & Pear fabrics and patterns. We hosted a schoolhouse where we shared our quilts and were grateful for a wonderful attendance. We were also happy to be able to meet with many shop owners and quilters in our booth over the course of the market.

Earlier This Week on the Blog + Our YouTube Channel

Below you'll find the links for our posts and videos from earlier this week. I shared the October Block of the Month pattern on Monday--be sure to download that if you haven't already!

Coming This Week

Tomorrow we'll share our Quilt Market review on the podcast. And there will also be another Moda Blockheads block on Wednesday and a new Poinsettia & Pear quilt later in the week. I'll also be posting a Quilt Market roundup post on the blog!

A Quilting Life Block of the Month

I've been getting a lot of emails with Block of the Month questions and thought this would be a great place to share the answers:

  • Finishing instructions with all of the details will be available for download along with the December block on December 1st. I've shared some of the finishing details in my videos already, but there will be a printable finishing pattern.
  • (I'm using 1 1/2" strips for my sashing and 1 1/2" squares for my sashing posts). This quilt would also be lovely even without the sashing--your choice!
  • Yes, there will be a free Block of the Month for 2026. I'll have a post with details in early November so that you can plan ahead!

Thank You!

Thanks so much for your kindness and your patience as the fall was quite busy with Quilt Market prep. I am super excited to be back in my sewing room and have so many things I want to make now that I'm home--I'll be sharing on the blog and here in the newsletter.

Have a wonderful rest of your day!
