$5 for November + Quilt Market Recap

Hello Reader,

I'm home from International Quilt Market in Houston, Texas, USA and have been putting things away, thinking about all of the inspiration from the show floor, and even sewing. Plus, I've been designing new things to share with you next year, so it's definitely been a busy week. Today I have a couple of booth pictures to share, and I've already posted twice and also shared part one of our Quilt Market video booth tours.

$5 for November: Home for Christmas

One of my favorite things to bring out each year is my Home for Christmas wall hanging I designed and then made with our Favorite Things fabric collection. I thought this would be the perfect $5 pattern for this month. You still have plenty of time to get it finished for yourself or for a gift!

Quilt Market

International Quilt Market in Houston, Texas was once again a wonderful experience. I feel like it was just a little bit better attended than last year as we seemed to be just as busy on day one and even a little busier than usual on day two. I do feel like the third day is pretty slow, but it does provide time to socialize with other designers and get in those last-minute meetings. Changes do definitely seem to be coming to the industry. It will be interesting to see what the next year brings.

It takes a bit of time to set up our booth, but boy does it come down quickly! And everything you see in the photo above actually fit into a medium-sized suitcase. I'm always so surprised by the take-down process even though I've been doing it for almost ten years now. Be sure to check out the list of posts and videos below to see even more booth photos and details.

Holiday Placemats

I'm starting to think about all things holiday + Christmas and made some fun placemats the other day. The new (PDF only) pattern contains directions for both the tree and the star versions. I used scraps from our Favorite Things collection but fall fabrics would be super cute as well.

Coming Soon

Tomorrow I'll be sharing the November 2024 Quilt Block of the Month. I'll also have fabric requirements available for the 2025 sew along on a downloadable PDF. I'll be using Raspberry Summer for my 2025 quilt, but it would also be gorgeous in Laguna Sunrise. (Raspberry Summer will ship in early February, just in time to sew along, and Laguna Sunrise is in shops now).

I'll also be sharing my finished king-sized fall quilt soon that I just picked up from my quilter Marion on Friday--I'm pretty over the moon about it and especially thrilled that I finally have a fall quilt for my bed.

I hope this is a wonderful week for you and that you get to sew and quilt soon! Thank you so very much for taking the time to read the weekly newsletter.

Have a great day!
Sherri
